Xcoser cosplay review #2 Little Devil Kotori

                                           image

This post is a REVIEW of the cosplay, to check out my photoshoot photos, click HERE!!!!

Hi! It's kind of a stressful time for me right now, because i have a ton of projects and a freshman speech to do soon.. cries in corner.

But anyway, today will be a review of a cosplay sponsored by Xcoser! You may remember that they sponsored me the Nozomi cheongsam idolized cosplay a while ago! I will be wearing both the little devil kotori and the cheongsam nozomi to Anime Boston 2017 so i can get a professional photoshoot done for both!

I had my eye on this set for a while now, my two favorite sets are definitely the little devil and the arabian dancers set! When Xcoser asked me which costume i wanted, i asked out of curiosity/hope if it was possible to choose a cosplay that wasn't listed on their website. I then sent them a picture of the little devil Kotori card. They kindly said yes! How nice ahhh!

Xcoser only sponsored the cosplay. The wig, shoes, and wand are bought/sponsored/made.

I also made a tutorial/walkthrough of how i made my little devil wand, so check it out here!

Shipping/packaging:

I'm not sure exactly when they shipped out my cosplay, but i remember my last message to them was sent on Tuesday and then i received the package on the following Wednesday. So roughly about a week for shipping!

Everything was packaged very nicely. It was shipped by Fedex and i remember the person who gave it to me knocked very loudly LOL

I won't show you pictures of the opened box because i ripped it open out of excitement, and i'd rather you not see the damage i did to that poor box.. :')

So the cosplay came in a box wrapped with a fedex bag. When i opened the bag, i saw a cardboard box with Xcoser's tape all around the edges! ^^

I was so surprised when it came because i wasn't expecting the cosplay to come that fast.. UwU

When i got the package, i immediately set up my camera and started to record an unboxing/first impression video but after my intro, the camera died! Turns out that the camera needed a new battery, but i didn't have a battery charger.. I'll just have to film a review instead i guess.

Closeup photos:

I GOT A NEW CAMERA! I dropped my old digital one (the one that i was using to take mirror pictures that you'll see later on). I dropped it while the lens was extended but it was time for a new camera anyways! ^^ This camera was expensive as hell, super heavy, but it was kind of worth it.

New camera in action! So here's the choker, its a gothic/victorian choker with little white and black beads dangling from the lace. One of the charms actually fell off, as you can see in the picture. I think i'll move one of the charms that are on the ends of the choker to the part missing the charm because the wig will cover up the back so there isn't a point to having a charm back there lol

This is a photo taken by my old camera , the quality is so different! 0 _ 0

Here are the hearts that go on Kotori's dress! They are super cute and made of plastic, they also vary in size, just like on the card. They all attach with pins to the dress. The red heart's pin fell off but i just glued it back on, it wasn't a big issue.

The flowers! The first thing i saw when i opened the box was the pink rose with the feathers, it's probably my favorite detail on the dress! It's so cute, but i'm not sure why devils are wearing angel feathers, maybe like all of their victim's feathers? :')) i don't know man

These flowers also attach with pins on the back. There are more flowers included than in the pictures but the remaining ones are on my garters which i will show later on!

The bead string thingies across kotori's dress! They are gold and white beads, and both ends of the string have this clip thingy? I'm not sure what the specific term for it is, but it's supposed to connect to the back of the pins of the flowers and hearts.

The cute horns! They are black and made from silicone and are very squishy and comfortable to wear! They attach with regular clips and are slightly hard to put on my wig, only because its so squishy haha~

The gorgeous crown omggg~ It's made from metal and has all the little details on it, like the hearts and pearls. I'm not sure if you can see, but the middle pink heart got scratched up a bit during transit, but it's nothing that a bit of paint can't fix!  The crown attaches with a comb attachment. The comb works well on real hair, but on wigs it's quite hard to stick in. Wigs have this lace dot at the top and that was exactly where the crown was supposed to lay :')) I ended up just choosing a spot farther back than the lace dot and just sticking it in there.

Xcoser even included tattoos, not just one, but two! This was a super nice touch because it's hard to draw the tattoos by yourself :')) one of the tattoos look super wrinkled because i pulled off the plastic film and then put it back on again.. ><

Detailed shots of this beautiful headband, ahh the camera is definitely doing well! Anyways, here is the headband. It has four roses varying in size and i believe they are hot glued on and then taped over to cover the glue. There are small pearls down the sides and one of my pearls fell off and i couldn't find it, but it's ok ^^

Here are the garters! They are very very accurate! The original card has a wavy design and Xcoser replicated it perfectly! You probably can't see well, but there are scallops/waves on the outside of the garter.

There is an adjuster thingy that you can pull up and down to make it longer/shorter. On one side of the garter there is a clip and the other side is a hook. I got confused on how i was supposed to put it on but after studying the costume after taking it off, i realized how to do it. You're supposed to clip the gold clip part to your bloomers/skirt/underwear/whatever and then attach the hook to a loop inside the leg garter. In the photos of me wearing it, i am wearing it backwards lolll

Here is the bracelet that goes around your wrist! It's very stretchy and comfortable and there's a black charm at the end.

The gloves! They are super cute and made of a very soft spandex material. The fingers are a bit short for me but that's understandable because my fingers are quite long orz

One thing that bothers me is the fabric of the black trim on top.. It sticks to literally everything and there is so so much fraying. The trim is made of a chiffon, which is hard to hem but i wish it wasn't made of this material.

The gloves literally stick to everything, even each other omg

The fishnet socks! The holes in these are quite large, but there are smaller holes near the toe area to keep your toes from sticking out :') The lace at the top is quite stretchy so it hugs the legs well. It was such a weird feeling wearing these, it wasn't a bad feeling, just weird if that makes any sense. :')

The leg garters! These are very cute and attach with velcro. In some of the photos above, you can see the fraying thing that i was talking about. The chiffon doesn't hold the print well and it's hard to iron chiffon.. >< There is a gold and white pearl trim around the garter and it's quite stretchy.

Here are the wings! They are very cute and stick out a lot, so it was kind of hard to walk through doors and i'm worried about accidentally hitting someone at a convention.. awkward.. orz
It's made from a nice pleather fabric (?? i think?) and it says "Love Live!" on one corner! The costume comes with two sets of clear straps. One for the wings, and one for the dress if you didn't want to wear the halter neck thingy.

Here's the halter neck thing i was talking about! The cosplay comes with two of these, so if you don't want to wear these you can just wear the clear ones! I prefer wearing these because i love halter dresses.. ><

Here is the tail! It's just a wire with some fabric around it and a heart on the end. It's very flexible and you can mold it into whatever shape you want, i prefer to make mine curly and stick up. xD
I wasn't sure how to attach this, there aren't clips it was just a blunt end. But on the skirt there were two slots in which the tail is supposed to go, i think? Correct me if i'm wrong!

The tail does look unruly and messes up the neatness of the dress, but there is a bow to cover it up! It's a great quality bow, with interfacing on the inside which makes it quite stiff. It attaches with pins as well!

Since the bust and waist were a bit too large for me, i folded the fabric over on itself and then sewed it down. I didn't want to cut it just in case i wanted to wear it in the future and i grew a bit more, cough probably not cough.

Here's the corset part. It's a black ribbon, and you tie it like a corset! I tightened mine a little bit, to make it fit my waist better. There is also this black velvet bow piece that goes on top of the corset, it attaches with a small safety pin.

This is a shot of the print on the dress! it's a floral print that resembles the print on the original card. There are many different colored flowers and there are also leaves and small white dots scattered around the dress.

The skirt has gold trim and there is two layers of a cut scalloped trim. One is more opaque than the other, which is exactly like the card! There are specks of gold circles in different sizes on the trim. Usually, the cosplay store's that i have seen sell this usually only include the black trim and not the opaque one, so it's nice that Xcoser included that!

The underside of the dress has a stiff tulle/mesh and i think it's to help the skirt hold the pleats, correct me if i'm wrong! I'm not very skilled in sewing.
I'm very skilled in the art of breaking machine needles though cough

So here's the bust of the dress. There is padding inside, so if you don't want to wear a bra you don't have to! I feel uncomfortable not wearing a bra, so i'd rather wear one. The light pink part is a spandex fabric. The black trim on the bust part is very nice and doesn't fray like the other opaque trim on the skirt and gloves. There are gold and white beads on lining the bust as well.

Here is the full dress! the angle is weird because i actually took this upside down, LOL

I was super surprised to see these! These are adorable bloomers with a very stiff tutu around it to give your dress even more poof! It was already poofy enough, just with the skirt and its many layers! But this really poofs it up and it provides protection from the wind/pervy people/creepy photographers. LOL

jawline woah

The earrings! They actually fell apart during transit, so i just glued the rose back onto the earring. It took me two tries to get it to stay on.. ><
They are super cute and dangle really nicely, they are a bit uncomfortable but that is only because i have pierced ears, and i am not used to fake earrings.
